The application compatibility update is wierd - it lists improved support in Vista for WinAntiVirus Pro (which is malware - it took ages to remove from a friend's machine) and Windows Internet Explorer 7!

Note that KB943899 is a PREVIEW release. Only install it if you're affected by the problem. At least once in the last few months, one of these "performance, responsiveness, and reliability of Windows Vista" updates has caused serious problems for some, issues corrected in the version that hits Windows Update at a later date. Prudence says to wait until then.

fivepoint, 7 percent, WOW! It's the Ron Paul of the computer industry, loved by a devoted few, interesting a few in the distance, and hated by the rest. Really though, I mean, 7% vs. a probable 90% isn't that amazing honestly.

Either you are statistically retarted, you you know full-well what this means... and are just playing dumb.  

I'll assume the first is correct, and explain it to you.  If mac market share is above 7%, that would mean that in the last 2-3 years, it has nearly doubled!  So, if you take a conservative estimate and say that it doubles in another 2 years, you will have 14%, then another 2 years, and you have 28%.  Do you see where I am going here?

a 1% growth for Apple is HUGE!  Several years ago, because of such small percentages that would have been increasing their computers sold by over 150%!  

Think about it a little... and you will realize, that this is a staggering number.  For any company to have 50% year over year growth is AMAZING!  Any competitor, even if they do have 90% of the market would be worried about that.

fivepoint, you've taken over a wrong post.  But, since you have, while all you say may be true, after Apple has since the tremendous growth you're touting - it's still at 7%.  So pardon me when I say - mehh...

fivepoint: My main point is that it's still only 7 percent! In many respects, a 500% increase from one person to five isn't amazing, it's deceiving! Also, this means there's a sign of a trend, with continuous doubling? Um, I think even the most optimistic Apple enthusiastic knows that that's about as likely as, returning to my last post, Ron Paul being president! Also, why should MS be worried, it just means they should take a second look and keep on track towards SP1, XP SP3, Server '08, Windows 7, IE 8, and all the other items they are working on. What's Apple on track towards, another .X upgrade to iTunes and hyping some new 5 features in the next Apple OS upgrade?
