iPhone SDK Beta 3

Apple emails about a new release of the iPhone SDK:

Log in to the iPhone Dev Center and download the third beta version of the iPhone SDK.

Make sure to take advantage of all the development resources available to you in the iPhone Dev Center, including updated documentation such as the iPhone OS Programming Guide, a new tutorial for creating iPhone applications using Interface Builder, and the latest release notes.

So I don't always agree with the way Apple does things, but I'm heartened to see them revving the iPhone SDK so quickly during the beta. They also really seem to be doing a great job of documenting things.

I think that great documentation and great development tools are essential to the success of any platform.

Silverlight is has great potential, but how easy is it to solve a problem and how easy is it to build an application?  I think they are on the right track, but they definitely need to do more.

I haven't seen the development platform for the iPhone, but the continuing success of that platform is to have developers who are making QUALITY USEFUL applications.

I really want an iPhone/iPod Touch.  I love having my iPod (classic) right now, but being able to have the calendar, mail, weather, and everything else I want instant access to is extremely alluring.  Especially if a service like www.rememberthemilk.com creates an application which can bring it ALL together for ALL my devices.
