Gamestop is not even selling ipods so what the signification of that? I'm sure everybody buy their zune on Zune Originals anyway.

btw the 80 millions ipod were sold all over the world not just in the US.

Does ANYBODY buy at GameStop? Regardless, the Zune section in the local Target had as many empty spots as the iPod section, and both started full. I have not been impressed by the prices in GameStops flyer [Sunday paper], and I usually compare them to the other flyers/item prices. Also, I saw minimal Zune stuff in GameStop's flyer, and I have been watching. Perhaps that's another reason.

Gamestop...only junior high mallrats shop there and probably unassuming parents of said ilk.

Going out of your way to pay sales tax just seems a tad retarded but then again I'm probably spoiled by Amazon Prime.

Who would buy a Zune OR an iPod from GameStop? I didn't even know they sold anything except game systems, games and game accessories.

I therefore scoop the story that they will stop selling GPS units, shredders and chromatic tuners.

Gamestop is selling every Wii they get in stock.

Who shops at Gamestop?  Lots of people do but probably not for Zunes.  Gamestop is on FIRE!

The best thing about gamestop is the used games and the trade ins....for consoles that is.

the Gamestop near me is always busy. I can't imagine who would shop there for any MP3 player.

They probably decided that they shouldn't waste product space on Zunes when they could put something else there that will sell.

I have seriously never met anyone who has a Zune. With all of Microsoft's $$ and other resources - why no advertising?

I happen to shop at Gamestop because they allow you to participate in Pre-Sales of Video games and is the only retailer in the D/FW area that I know of that does that. I'm so fed up with Wal-Mart and Blockbuster that I do not give them any of my video game business. Gamestop has a good atmosphere of people and easy to find stores in the area. I guess having their Corporate Headquarters in Grapevine, TX maybe a reason why they're so hot down here. So here's 1 customer for Gamestop.

I opened the paper this morning to find this story on the front page of the business section. This is news?! This is a case of the media printing the story because it sounds like news, even though it's nothing of the sort.

This is kind of a throwback to the local "record" store, where the employees actually have experience with the product, unlike the big box stores, where training consists of a 2-minute hype-fest prior to opening, to sell the products with the highest markup.

I've never heard of "Gamestop" stores being in Canada, but "EB Games" (what used to be "Electronics Boutique") is the Canadian name for the same stores, as they're owned by the same company.  I haven't seen any EB Games stores near me change their name to Gamestop since the name change from Electronics Boutique.  

I would sometimes order games from their website, but between paying for international shipping and customs duties (all online orders ship from the States for some reason, instead of from a Canadian warehouse), and paying for gas and taxes, I'd rather buy it locally.

I guess that I ignore them since I am no longer a gamer [I'm married, with children]. Still, I browse the flyers for electronic stuff, but never found any deal better than what I can quickly find on line. Also, the local store in Mt Laurel NJ never looks busy, but that is during school hours.

You're joking, right? You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of those new "Zune Pass" ads on cable.

They're actually pretty well done, too. They make a great case for subscription music. Too bad you have to own a Zune  to use it. When Apple finally gets on the ball and starts a subscription service, the only practical use for a Zune will be as ballast.

Oh, and my local BP gas station decided to quit selling refrigerators, too...I am guessing that means that Whirlpool will soon have to quit making them because Kenmore has a more popular model.
