Wrong place to add this but anyways I don't think I ever read submitted and rejected but do you really think it will get approved. Have you read apples ULA, the next thing is to gather the best games make them avalible as part of the ipod/iphone and cheat the companies that made them. OK OK I'm exaggerating but you get my point.

As long as Paul doesn't correct it then someone might as well. Someone writes something, every blogger repeats it, and next thing you know it's true because so many people said so. Except for Paul and the rest of the WinJihad here, to whom it's true anyway because 'Apple is evil'. Hypocrisy.

And no, it won't get approved, just like I won't win the lottery because I don't buy lottery tickets.

Someone else, too, hopefully realizes how similar 'the crazy Mac fans' and 'the sensible Windows fans' are...:

- Years of ranting about Mac not having viruses because it's less popular was rendered bs when MS managed to put out a more secure Windows version out and viruses became non-existent

- Apple's quality control 'sucks' and 'they put alpha-level software out and test it on their users', but somehow it's ok for Microsoft to do the same on 40 times as many people

- Years of ridiculing Mac OS ui was rendered bs when Windows took the eye candy even further when suddenly it became 'cool'

- Now the old Windows menu bar suddenly sucks, while the new dock-style is cool, although it was horrible just a while back when it was used only in OS X

- And what do you know: Vista came in 2007, Windows 7 could be coming in 2009, and of course it's okay, even though Apple putting out new OS versions at the same pace isn't - and Mac OS X even costs *a lot* less

And for the record: I think both companies suck. Some of their products don't.

Mom, You ignore the main reason Paul goes after Apple - because the mainstream press always gives the company a free pass. Everything that you've talked about, Microsoft has received more than its share of criticism from the media. On the other hand, about the only people who criticize Apple for missteps are people like Paul.

Eric Arthur Blair, who wrote two of last century's classics, "Animal Farm' and '1984', under the pen name George Orwell, once remarked, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. " That is so true!

Incidentally, I've read both books; the first one, when I was 19. ;-)

IMHO the new taskbar is not a dock copy. The only thing they have in common are big icons but that's nothing new (quick launch).

The new taskbar works completely different. It is much more useful or useable than the dock because it keeps all the advantages of the taskbar, combines it with big icons and adds lots of extra functionality.

The windows are minimized to their icons and mouse over shows the thumbnails, multiple instances are grouped to the app icon, Aero Peek shows the contents of a windows without switching to that window, there's a menu for recently used files or controls for every app icon and so on.

That's an evolution of both the dock and the taskbar which makes it a revolution of the interface.

Contrary to what Paul thinks about it, I do NOT agree that it is a copy of the dock and I do NOT agree that it adds any disadvantages of the dock to the taskbar.

To me, it is nothing but a great improvement. And it's a ehole new concept, better than the taskbar and better than the dock.

I NEVER got used to any interface more quickly than to this one. I have only used it since PDC and I already miss the new taskbar every time I work on Vista.

Regarding 'crazy Mac fans' and 'sensible Windows fans', come back when you find Windows fans like robertsjoe and Ocean.

BTW, isn't any Mac user embarrassed by robertsjoe?

Honest Mac users cannot stand people like robertsjoe and Ocean. They hate that they are assumed to have the same level of maturity of these kids that troll around on tech sites.

You get an occasional post from them saying as much, but they dont post often enough to counter these guys in huge numbers.

You bump into them pretty much every day when you're a mac user in tech circles. When I got a Mac I didn't know anyone else with one but disapproving pc guys seemed to be everywhere. But my experience can obviously be different because where I live Macs are (or have been) very rare and there  really hadn't been any visible cult surrounding it until the internet really took over. If anything, in fact the tech press here seems to be against anything Apple makes as much as there are positive views. I guess the company just doesn't leave anyone cold.

And I really can't see how people like Mike Galos are any different from tcmf's. He obviously knows a lot about tech stuff and software development, but his experience on things he writes about in general actually seems a bit thin as he has a word to say about absolutely everything, whether it's his field or not. And I'm certain that at some point he's said or art least quietly approved everything I listed above.

Regarding Paul's take on this all: I see him as one more guy who just writes what he likes to and feels good about, leaving the responsibility entirely to the reader in the process. He's certainly not bringing any balance in the issue. That would take neutrality, which seems rare indeed when it comes to operating systems and brands.

1) No because to be honest, I could careless what another computer uses.

2) No,  Because I could care less what another computer user thinks about what I use.

3) No, because contrary to popular belief there are many mac users who don't buy for style and fashion reasons that the Windows users surmise that they do.

4) No, because in addition to #3 there are other reasons to buy a computer that have nothing to do with Windows or its users.

5) No, because contrary to popular belief we are not all on a first name basis forming secret plans to dominate the  world,

6) The same question can be turned around? Aren't there any Windows users you are embarrassed about? There are plenty on this site if you want to play that game.

Seems to me that the two of you are some of the most vocal critics of "Mac Users" or "I would never buy a Mac  because of the users which I have heard shark comment on before". To each his own, I will point out seems to me to be rather hypocritical to base one's buying purchases on what someone does or does not use, and then turn around and level the same accusation of being mindless fan boys....?

And for the record I really could care less what anyone uses for a computer, but don't sit there and try and convince me that  Windows users are innocent in this debate.

And much like Mum there are plenty of Windows fanatics.

I didn't say that. I said I would never buy a Mac until I needed one. Or maybe when the guy in the Youtube video or robertsjoe convinces me to get one. Talking about that video, I love that guy's passion when he talks about Microsoft. You can see it in his eyes.
