IANAEE but the answer to your question can be easily answered by a first year EE student or anyone whom has snapped together a few boxens. The simple answer is the internal parts are not the same.

The answer to your video question has something to do with a simple but debatable method that the Apple engineers used for conserving battery life while displaying images.

I will leave it up to Weathron to provide his always interesting and long winded explanation to your initial question.

We all can only hope the results holds true over the battery 1/2 life. Since you owned more than a few cells phones you will see why this can be only viewed as anecdotal.
