None the less of the lack of a previous record holder, the accomplishment is significant. MS has to step its game up with I.E. 8 and I am encouraged by the steps in the I.E. 8 beta. Hopefully MS can beat that challenge with setting a new record.

Of course, seeing how there was no previous Guinness World Record for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours it was hardly much in doubt whether they'd beat zero to set the "new" record.
