To help customers

re: Microsoft updating Windows Update

@ RunTimeError....

At this point, I'd even settle for Geordi LaForge, Miles O'Brien, Torres or Tripp from Enterprise to get WU working right. It truely annoys me the lengthy scanning time. The rest of Vista works pretty good, but WU really ticks me off. I will concede that point to Mac users.

Peace.

hehehehe! They should change the text to this maybe?

This particular update will not make any changes to the way WU looks of feels, but we have charged up the damn dilithium crystals which have been going strong since Windows 98 SE, but fading since XP SP2. This will improve:

    * The length of time it takes Windows Update to scan for updates

    * The speed in which signature updates will be delivered

This is one gripe with Vista that truely annoys me. There is no excuse with DDR memory, dual core processors, and other improvements for WU to be so dreadfully slow. I hope these fixes make it zing on through, because since XP SP2, its been getting slower and slower. Come on Microsoft, fix the warp drive... Or do we have to re-call Scotty from heaven? (Rest in Peace, James Doohan.)

I think it's because I had Internet Explorer 8 Tech Preview 1 and later uninstalled it.
