@Wae: Thanks! I got a live.ca address as soon as they were available, but I'll need to experiment with that trick; I didn't know it was possible. For the record, Bell was supposed to have everyone switched over by the end of 2007, which seemed late back then too. I've been checking Bell's forums and the reps give the same non-answers every month. I doubt whether Bell is devoting any attention to this at all; they've probably got more man-hours invested in changing their logo.

Outlook Connector in Office Outlook and Windows Live Mail provide the same functionality. Windows Mobile phones also support it natively in Outlook Mobile too, so I don't see how IMAP is relevant.

There's a way to change that. It involves signing up for WL Hotmail but using your Sympatico email address as the login....I don't remember all the steps though, because I'm not on Rogers, which is much faster IMHO. You can however get a live.ca email account though.

Awesome. Windows Live Hotmail has been slowly progressing as free email service and its one of my oldest email accounts.

However, Lindy does actually make a very good point. W.L.Hotmail should support free IMAP mail and clients.

As I've always said, I'm always supportive of user options and rights. Opening up W.L. Hotmail would be a good thing.

If not then, yeah it looks really nice but so what. I bet more people still use email in a fat client today than web based email.

Good to hear! Interesting new UI -- kinda looks like a cross between Kahuna and Zune 2.

Hopefully this release will work with partner accounts too. Sympatico still has me using the old MSN Hotmail interface, no joke.

Great news on the hotmail updates, but I wonder - will they get rid of the shameful and appalling flashing banner adds at the top that take up 10% of my screen? (e.g. CONGRATULATIONS YOU'VE GOT ONE FREE YEAR!!!)
