"Seriously... have you not heard? Apple doesn't support beta boot camp on Tiger as of December 31st. No one wants to use unsupported software so people have to upgrade."

While it is true the beta boot camp "installer" has expired, existing installations run fine. Once you have your Windows partition up and running you can trash the boot camp assistant, you don't need it any more.

I (like many others) am still happily booting into Windows while still using Tiger. In fact I'm using the same boot camp partition with Parallels.

In case something goes wrong, I have cloned the Windows partition with Winclone (more beta software).

I even used Winclone to duplicate the Windows boot camp partition from my Mac Pro to my Macbook Pro to use with Parallels.

Both environments are set up to use all my my peripherals, including an Apple airport extreme.

I have not had a single blue screen on Windows XP Pro or Kernal Panic on Tiger on either machine since doing this in October last year. It's been computing nirvana.

That's why I haven't upgraded to Leopard yet, I want the features, but don't want stability/compatibility issues. Hopefully 10.5.2 will solve most issues.

Also, regarding something else you wrote :

"So... since I got my iPod Touch at Costco for Christmas.... I guess there's enough time to take it back and replace it with a new one that has these updates... hmm.... maybe I'll go back to the Zune since MS gives us these (or bigger) updates for free!"

Maybe you should go back to your Zune, but I hope you are a very patient person. You'll be waiting an extremely long time for Microsoft to provide a free update that provides mail, maps, weather, stocks, and notes. Or for that matter a web browser, online music purchases and a multitouch interface.

And lastly to Paul

"Jobs claims that the iPhone garnered 19.5 percent of US smart phone market in its first 90 days on the market, second behind RIM with 39 percent. Which his interesting, since Windows Mobile actually outsells RIM: According to Apple's chart, Microsoft isn't even on the list (though "Other" is at 21.2 percent). Cute."

Those market share numbers were divided up by hardware manufacturers. That's why Window's mobile doesn't appear on the list. Convenient for Apple I know, but that's the reason.

Seriously... have you not heard? Apple doesn't support beta boot camp on Tiger as of December 31st. No one wants to use unsupported software so people have to upgrade. I'm assuming you're a mac user by your pretentious attitude and inferiority, I-must-hate-everyone-who-criticizes-things-I-like complex... I'm surprised you didn't know that.

By "assuming" I guess I'm just making an "@ss" out of "u" and "ming"... and since I don't know anyone named Ming, that must be you again.

Certainly he could have originally said that it was only something that could be done and without evidence that it would happen, it should garner any points for a possibility. But now that he sees that the iPhone not only can but is being given new features over time, I'd like to see how his other 'favorites' have been doing with getting new features since their inititial release.

"Yes, but remember that a lot of mac users are using Windows, so when Apple turned all of Tiger's Boot Camps off, all those people had to upgrade if they wanted to use Windows!"

WTF?

That is the most ignorant thing I've read all week, and believe me, that's a challenge. Apple did not turn "all of Tigers Boot Camps off". If you installed Boot Camp under Tiger, it continues to operate exactly as it did before. Not one single person "had to upgrade" to continue using an existing installation.

Before you open your mouth next time, pull your head out of your a$$.
