It's expensive, but we use ThinApp for just that purpose. The entire Office 2007 suite (sans two helper apps, iirc) can be kept on an appropriately-sized USB stick and launched portably using it. It's pretty darn convenient.

Of course, the only downside is that ThinApp is not yet Win7-compatible...

A consumer version would be great; the Student edition is almost there, but not quiet, as the license is restricted.

Office Mondo could be the name for either the portable version or an online version, as mondo means 'world' in Italian.

No one's noticed because people don't care. They only care about companies like Apple and Google, interesting things.

Please make it as fast as Office 2003. Office 2007 is a bloated, slow pig, 2008 is even worse. I am glad my company is sticking with 2003 for the time being.
