Why does Network discovery take so long in Vista?

This is pretty much my only complaint with Vista. Don't understand why it takes so long to bring up a local network. Even as a member of my domain it takes 5+ minutes or longer to display my network. All the XP machines have the LLTD (Link Layer Topology Discovery) added. Yet it takes way too long...

Isproc, off topic I have experienced the very same issues with Family Safety and Explorer...both pre and post-SP1 install. I have a support call into the OneCare Safety team, and they told me they were researching it. I hope they get this corrected...I was drawn to Family Safety because I would be able...

Persionally i fined that vista has been getting a terrible label by the average joe smoe. Youtube and other places like that havent been helping it at all. People like to complain and thats what everyone is doing now. Lots of people are moving to the mac out of fustration or being scared to use vista...

Windows Vista seems to be getting some negative press from everyone i know or see. I seem to be the only person that actually likes it. Most people have installed it then since removed it because eather they found it to slow, crashing alot, audio would not work, mouse would act funny, to much crap on...
