  • The return of Digital Media Core

I've been working on a few Digital Media Core articles lately (ripping DVDs, Media Center Extenders specifically) and will hopefully have those up soon. I know it's been awhile. I've tested all three of the modern (i.e. Vista-class) Extenders that are currently available, but I'm curious...

  • Site work, part deux

In keeping with yesterday's post about work on the site design , I made a few small changes today.... The What I Use page was finally updated (I had done this mostly a month ago but there was a screwy formatting problem). I also updated the Windows and Cloud Computing activity centers (from a content...

  • Site work

In what I should obviously admit to myself will be a never-ending ongoing process, I'm going to spend a bit of time working on the site layout and design this week. I kind of like the way the site looks now, but I think I'm going to change it to a fixed width and, sometime down the road, do something...

  • Live Mesh

So I'm going to post it here (unedited) for now and then mention a few changes I see coming for this site as a result. With Live Mesh, Microsoft...

  • Airline Travel: Your source for regurgitated blog posts ... or something

I've gotten a lot of questions about the "pingback" stuff in my blog's Comments sections. I'm not a Community Server expert, but I'd love to know how to prevent them from appearing. If you do know, please, drop me a note. In any event, one of the weirdest and most common pingbacks...

  • Windows Live Writer

I've been using Windows Live Writer to post the past several blog entries and ... yeah. Yeah, it's good. I would have begun using it long ago, but we had a mis-configuration in Community Server. The tech gods at Penton cleared that up this week and ... ta da! ... it works just fine. This is important...
